Welcome to Ancestry Seed Bank website. The website is owned by Ancestry Seed Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our”).
Every time you order from Ancestry Seed Ltd using this website you agree to the following.
By using this site, www.ancestryseedbank.com you represent that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.
GOODS, PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
We make all reasonable efforts to ensure that all descriptions and graphical representations of Goods available from us correspond to the actual Goods. Please note, however, the following:
Images of Goods are for illustrative purposes only. There may be slight variations in colour between the image of a product and the actual product sold due to differences in computer displays and lighting conditions.
Images and/or descriptions of packaging are for illustrative purposes only, the actual packaging of Goods may vary.
Product Images are as a visual guide and representation only. If you wish to use one of our images, you must obtain permission first. You may view or print specific pages from this site for your own personal use only but not copy, reproduce, modify or distribute any part of this site without our written permission.
We cannot guarantee that Goods will always be available. Stock availability indications are provided on Our Site; however, such indications may be affected by sudden changes in demand or adverse changes to growing conditions.
Minor changes may, from time to time, be made to certain Goods between your Order being placed and us processing that Order and dispatching the Goods, for example, to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements, or to address technical or security issues. Any such changes will not change any main characteristics of the Goods and will not normally affect your use of those Goods. We may provide, where appropriate, a suitable alternative where an ordered item is not in stock. If you do not wish to receive a substitute item, you must stipulate this under special delivery instructions at the time of order and you will receive a refund instead.
We make all reasonable efforts to ensure that all prices shown on Our Site are correct at the time of going online. We reserve the right to change prices and to add, alter, or remove special offers from time to time and as necessary. All pricing information is reviewed and updated every year. Special offers are used as felt appropriate and are for specific purposes detailed on our website. Changes in price will not affect any order that you have already placed
All prices are checked by Us before We accept your Order. In the unlikely event that We have shown incorrect pricing information, we will contact you in writing to inform you of the mistake. If the correct price is lower than that shown when you made your Order, we will simply charge you the lower amount and continue processing your Order. If the correct price is higher, we will give you the option to purchase the Goods at the correct price or to cancel your Order (or the affected part of it). We will not proceed with processing your Order in this case until you respond. If We do not receive a response from you within fourteen days or seven days prior to the designated dispatch date for your order, we will treat your Order as cancelled and notify you of this in writing.
In the event that the price of Goods you have ordered changes between your Order being placed and Us processing that Order and taking payment, you will be charged the price shown on Our Site at the time of placing your Order.
All prices on Our Site include VAT. If the VAT rate changes between your Order being placed and Us taking payment, the amount of VAT payable will be automatically adjusted when taking payment.
Delivery charges are not included in the price of Goods displayed on Our Site. For more information on delivery charges, please refer to our delivery information page. Delivery options and related charges will be presented to you as part of the order process.
ORDERS
Our Site will guide you through the ordering process. Before submitting your order you will be given the opportunity to review your Order and amend it. Please ensure that you have checked your Order carefully before submitting it.
If, during the order process, you provide Us with incorrect or incomplete information, please contact Us as soon as possible. If We are unable to process your Order due to incorrect or incomplete information, we will contact you to ask to correct it. If you do not give Us the accurate or complete information within a reasonable time of Our request, we will cancel your Order and treat the Contract as being at an end. If We incur any costs as a result of your incorrect or incomplete information, we may pass those costs on to you.
We will also include a paper copy of the Order Confirmation with your Goods.
In the unlikely event that We do not accept or cannot fulfil your entire Order for any reason, we will explain why in writing. No payment will be taken under normal circumstances. If We have taken payment any such sums will be refunded to you as soon as possible and in any event within 7 working days. Where we cannot fulfil part of your order we will normally, unless otherwise requested, provide a refund with your dispatched goods.
Any refunds will be made using the same payment method that you used when ordering the Goods (unless you specifically request that we make a refund using a different method).
FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECT GOODS
You should report any damaged goods or faulty products within a reasonable time. In usual circumstances, we would request you inspect goods and report any faults within 48 hours of receipt
Goods delivered by courier, in usual circumstances the outer packaging should be inspected at time of delivery and any damage should be noted and signed for as damaged, please inspect the goods within 48 hours to ensure none of the goods inside the package have been damaged by the courier.
Changes to an order. If you wish to change your order you must email us promptly prior to the order being dispatched and we will do our best to implement the change where possible.
When ordering on the website you have a right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You have 14 calendar days from the day after you received the goods to cancel and receive a full refund including the cost of postage to you – on the condition that the product has not been opened or damaged. The cost of returning the goods is the responsibility of the customer. If any other shipping other than Royal Mail 1st class i.e. Signed For or courier was selected, only standard basic shipping will be reimbursed. A refund will be issued back onto the payment method used within 14 days of receipt of goods. We reserve the right to deduct any reasonable costs if the goods are returned damaged or unsellable. We would request that goods are returned in their original undamaged packaging no later than 14 days after the day on which you notified us of cancellation.
We would like to remind you that you have a statutory duty to take care of goods. If you do not contact us to cancel within 14 calendar days, any requests to cancel outside this time will be considered but please be aware we may impose costs including delivery charges. We reserve the right to cancel any order.
DELIVERY
Same day shipping is guaranteed on weekdays for any order placed and paid prior to 14:00.
We use Royal Mail 1st Class for large letters and most small and medium parcels. Larger parcels may be sent by DPD, who require a signature.
All orders under to UK FREE DELIVERY

Europe (All postal shipments outside UK are suspended pending the agreement of agriculture regulations between UK / EU)
PACKAGING
We pack all our seeds in a heat-sealed and send in biodegradable strong parcels or envelopes. We are very conscious that your seed should not get wet so do please advise us of a dry place where parcels can be left, if there is a possibility that you will be out when they are delivered.
Packets containing 60 seeds or less are manually counted. Packets containing more than 60 seeds are measured on high quality, hyper- sensitive scales to ensure that you receive the correct amount.
We cannot accept postal orders or phone orders.
The ONLY way to order seeds is online from this website. If for any reason, you are not 100% happy with your order, then please get in touch via the contact form or via our email which is info@ancestryseedbank.com.
In the event that you are present at the time of delivery and the package/s are damaged we advise that you sign for the goods as 'Damaged' and contact us immediately. Our customer's opinions and feedback are very important to us. We would prefer you to let us know if you have any problems so we can help resolve.
PAYMENT
Payment will be taken at the time the order is placed. We accept payment for online orders by Visa, Mastercard and Maestro. Cards are debited when the order is first processed, in order to avoid issues where credit & debit cards may expire before the date of delivery. Just provide your card type and number, expiry date (Valid from date for Maestro), and the three-digit security code, which can be found on the back of the card. Prices include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to revise any prices in the event of unforeseen circumstances or a change in the VAT rate.
SEED QUALITY
Please note seed is a living product which depends on many important related grower skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, type of soil, watering, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides, disease free soil, and reasonable weather conditions during the growing period. Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media. Although we do everything possible to get seeds to you in the best possible condition far exceeding legal requirements and will provide as much help as possible, these factors are totally outside of our control and once you receive the seeds it's over to you. Consequently, we can take no responsibility for the suitability to your local conditions of any variety offered, the indicative cultivation advice provided or ultimately the varieties performance. As such you should seek local advice to carefully ensure your local conditions and the time of season are appropriate to the variety purchased.
You understand that seeds and plants are living things, and I cannot guarantee that seeds will germinate or that plants will grow and thrive, due to the length of time and the high temperatures for germination of some species, and how seeds are stored once they leave our care.
Our liability is to the value of the goods purchased, we cannot be held responsible for the resultant crops.
Orders outside the EU, I cannot be liable if any product is seized by customs or quarantine departments in your country, you must ensure the items you are ordering can be imported into your Country.
PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION
All personal data that We may collect about you and use will be collected, held, and processed in accordance with UK data protection law (including, but not limited to, the GDPR (and any successor legislation which applies following the UK’s departure from the European Union), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003).
When you order, we need to know your name, email address, invoice and delivery addresses, and payment details including credit or debit card number details, together with other information as may be appropriate. This enables us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you in the event of any queries.
We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that holds about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies, we will delete or correct it promptly. If you have any questions/comments about privacy, you should contact us. We never store or retain any details of your payment cards.
